Make a Paws-itive Impact from Your Couch: Join a Bogey’s Buddies Committee!
Have you ever scrolled through our Facebook page, seen a photo of a rescued dog, and thought, “I wish I could do more to help”? Do you have ideas, passion, and a couple of hours to spare each month? If you’re nodding your head, we have an exciting new opportunity that might be the perfect fit for you.
Bogey’s Buddies is more than just a rescue; we are a community resource committed to helping the pets and people of Bartow County. To expand our impact, we are thrilled to announce the formation of our new Advisory Council Committees…and we need you to help us build them!
These aren’t your typical, stuffy board positions. These are hands-on, flexible, and fun volunteer roles that let you make a direct impact on saving lives, all from the comfort of your home. No regular meetings, no rigid schedules, and absolutely no experience required – just a passion for animals.
What is a Committee Member?
Our committees are small teams of 2-5 volunteers who support a Lead Advisor on specific projects. The time commitment is incredibly flexible, ranging from just 2-8 hours per month. You’ll work mostly remotely via email and group chat, helping to execute fun, impactful projects that directly save pets’ lives.
We are currently looking for volunteers to join two crucial committees:
1. The Fundraising Committee
What you’ll do: This committee is the engine behind our life-saving work. You’ll help our temporary Lead Advisor, Becca, create and run our yearly fundraising calendar. This is where the magic happens! Think online giving campaigns, local restaurant nights, yard sales, and researching grants. You could be designing a flyer for an event, contacting a local business for a sponsorship, or helping set up an online donation page.
This role is perfect for: Organized planners, social media-savvy folks, creative thinkers, or anyone who loves planning a good party for a great cause. If you’ve ever wanted to see how a nonprofit raises the funds it needs to operate, this is your chance to learn!
2. The Pet Image & Content Committee
What you’ll do: In the world of rescue, a picture is worth a thousand words, and a great adoption profile is priceless. Led by Amber and Charity, this committee is our animals’ personal marketing team. You’ll assist with photo and video shoots of our adoptable pets to help them find homes faster. This could involve holding a puppy during a photoshoot, editing simple photos or videos using free tools like Canva, or writing the cute, cheeky bios you see on our website and social media.
This role is perfect for: Anyone with a creative spark!
If you love taking photos, have a knack for writing, or just want an excuse to cuddle with adorable animals, this is the committee for you. You will be directly helping our adoptable pets put their best paw forward.
